Classroom Rules
|
Classroom Management I use a classroom management plan that allows children to move clips based on positive and negative behaviors. I believe children respond better to positive reinforcement rather than negative. All students will have a clip with his/her name on it and will begin the day on green. If students make good choices (helping a friend, listening, working hard) they will have the opportunity to move their clip up to purple or pink. However, if a child doesn't follow our class/school rules, the follow actions will take place:
1st warning: A verbal warning will be given to the student to remind him/her that the behavior is not acceptable. 2nd warning: The student will move their clip from green to yellow. The consquence for this is sitting out 5 minutes of recess. 3rd warning: The student will move their clip from yellow to red. The student will lose all of recess (15 minutes). 4th warning: If unacceptable behaviors continue after three warnings, the student will go talk with Mr. Schumacher. *Students will have the oppurtunity to go back to green if they change behavior and continue to stay on task for the rest of the day. |
Communication
Your child will have a "Take Home
Folder". This folder needs to come to school everyday. It will
hold important correspondence from the school, graded papers, and information about what is going on in the classroom.
